HNBA Applauds Supreme Court’s Decision Upholding Affirmative Action
WASHINGTON /U.S. Newswire/ — The Hispanic National Bar Association applauds today’s Supreme Court decision in Grutter v. Bellinger, et al., upholding the University of Michigan Law School admission policies. The HNBA expressed its support of the University of Michigan Law School admission policies in an Amicus Curiae submitted before the highest court. “The Court’s decision is a reaffirmation of the need for diversity in our law schools, for they serve as a foundation for the future leaders of the nation. We are proud the Supreme Court agreed with our interpretation of the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause and federal statutes promoting diversity through affirmative action policies”, stated Duard Bradshaw, HNBA President.
