As part of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategic plan, the University of Michigan seeks the campus community’s assistance in identifying initiatives, setting priorities, developing strategies and providing solutions that address concerns about diversity, equity and inclusion at U-M.

We are using an online community called Be Heard to encourage active participation and conversation about these topics. By providing a tool that allows faculty, staff, students and leadership to voice concerns, make recommendations or contribute feedback, we can more efficiently address important issues. Recognizing community input and ideas not only supports diversity, equity and inclusion in the decision-making process, but will also help us create the most effective outcomes for the entire U-M community.

How It Works

  • U-M faculty, staff and students are invited to join the community.
  • Use your umich email to register and login.
  • Submit ideas, add comments and help develop, modify or expand ideas by adding your insights and providing valuable feedback.
  • Play a part in setting and identifying priorities by voting on the items and opinions that matter most.
