The UMAPS program, launched in 2008 with support from the U-M President’s office, to date has welcomed 119 early career faculty from Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Cameroon, D.R.C and Tanzania to campus for a four to six month residency to work with a U-M faculty member for mentorship or collaboration on projects that will help advance their careers.
