In collaboration with the School of Social Work, 18 University of Michigan students participated in “Hijabi Monologues: Halfway Hijabi” on Feb. 3, 2017. The event provided Muslim women the opportunity to teach about the hijab through their lived experiences both on and off campus. The women used stories and poems as a way to translate those messages in light of the escalation in hate crimes against hijab-wearingMuslim women.
The event is now available to view online in its entirety on YouTube.
