University of Michigan leaders shared notable progress in the implementation of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Plan during the 2020 DEI Summit. More than 2,200 faculty, staff, students and community members participated in the first all-virtual Community Assembly.

10/26: Community Assembly & Discussion
The 2020 Community Assembly began with opening remarks from President Schlissel, Provost Susan Collins, and Chief Diversity Officer Robert Sellers. The event’s featured several guest speakers who discussed the importance and role of the arts in social justice.
DEI Report
The first all-digital report was released on October 26, highlighting the progress from Year 4 of the five year DEI Strategic Plan. Additionally, the annual Executive Summary was released concurrently to the report.
